Despite totaling 30 kills and a dozen service aces, LFA dropped a three-set match (26-24, 22-25, 24-26) at Rochelle Zell on Monday. All three sets came down to the final few serves as the Caxys couldn’t take advantage of opportunities to close the match. LFA utilized seven aces in the first set and held off Rochelle Zell in a 26-24 decision. The second set saw LFA trailing, 22-16, before a five-point run pulled the Caxys to within a point before the Tigers closed the set at 25-22 to force a deciding third frame. LFA looked to close the match with a 23-20 lead in the third set before Rochelle Zell took a 24-23 advantage. The Caxys answered to tie the score, but was unable to secure the win in the 26-24 third set defeat. Joey Chen ’25 finished with 10 kills, three digs and three aces while Nolan Greenwell ’25 added eight kills and three aces. Jaden Kim ’25 totaled 24 assists and three aces and Noah Cedergren ’24 finished with 16 digs. Yusef Primus ’25 had five kills and Sy Rosenblatt ’25 added three blocks and an ace.
