LFA dropped a 6-1 decision at the Burlington West Grizzlies. Claire Wyngarden ’25 knotted the score at 1-1 with a goal in the first period, but the Grizzlies opened up the game with four goals in the third period.

Lake Forest Academy trailed Lake Forest by a goal after the first period before breaking through in the third frame with two scores in a 2-1 victory. Adriana Fernandez ’25 skated end to end and scored with a beautiful wrist shot to tie the game. Soon after, Madeleine Stastny ’26 tallied the deciding goal shortly after as she crashed the net from the point to score. Alexandra Fernandez ’25 made 45 saves in net to secure the victory.

Alexandra Fernandez ’25 made 40 saves in net to shut out Maine East in a Metro Girls Hockey League game. The Caxys killed off several penalties, including a 5-on-3 during the second period, and battled hard throughout the evening. LFA put the pressure on in the third period, but couldn’t convert the offensive opportunities and finished with a 0-0 tie.

The girls varsity ice hockey team started the season strong with a 4-0 win against Evanston Township. Andrea Fernandez ’25 tallied two goals to lead the Caxys with a score in the second period that was followed by another LFA goal from Zoe Canonne ’25 a few minutes later. The third period saw two insurance goals as Fernandez tapped in a rebound of a shot by Madeleine Stastny ’26 before Jessica Xu ’27 took advantage of Evanston pulling their goalie for the final goal of the evening. Goalie Alexandra Fernandez ’25 earned the shutout for LFA.
