Boys Varsity Golf Wins ISL Championships

Caxys Lose: -
With every golfer in the top 15, Lake Forest Academy claimed the title at the ISL Championships. The Caxys led the field by nine strokes with the winning team score of 304 at Harborside International Golf Center. University High was the second-place team at 313 followed by Francis Parker at 316. Fitz Knight ’27 led the LFA contingent with a round of 74 to finish tied for third overall. Trevor Reenan ’25 and Russell Stewart ’24 each posted a 76 to finish tied for seventh while Quinn Knight ’24 shot a 78 and tied for ninth overall. Nick Heise ’25 and Christian Martinez ’25 rounded out the action for LFA with each shooting an 82 to finish in a group in 14th place.

Lake Forest Academy took third place out of eight teams competing at the Mundelein Invitational at Steeple Chase GC. The Caxys shot a four-person team score of 324 and finished in third place behind Mundelein (316), and Loyola Academy (308). LFA had three top 10 finishers as Quinn Knight ’24 posted a score of 79 to finish seventh overall while Fitz Knight ’27 and Christian Martinez ’25 each carded an 80 to finish in a group in ninth place. Russell Stewart ’24 rounded out the Caxy scoring with a score of 85.
Boys Varsity Golf Posts Strong Victory Against Warren Township

Caxys Lose: 150.00 - 161.00
The Caxys took on an experienced Warren team that went downstate in the large school division last year. The match featured eight golfers from each team in a change from the normal six golfers apiece format. LFA came out with a resounding victory by a score of 150-161. The Caxys had an amazing seven of eight golfers post scores in the 30's. Russell Stewart ’24 continued his fine play for a third match in a row with medalist honors shooting a 36, and Jim Nguyen ’24, Fitz Knight ’27, and Quinn Knight ’24 all shot rounds of 38. Ford Sweet ’25, Christian Martinez ’25, and Nick Heise ’25 all shot 39's.

Caxys Lose: 157.00 - 161.00
LFA battled Francis Parker in a very competitive and tense match as Parker's first two golfers gave them an early nine-stroke advantage. However, the Caxy golfers slowly chipped away and the squad's depth was the difference in a 157-161 victory. Fitz Knight ’27 led the charge with a much-needed 37, while Russell Stewart ’24 (38), Ford Sweet ’25 (41), and Quinn Knight ’24 (41) finished the scoring.

Caxys Lose: 157.00 - 181.00
The Caxys prevailed over Northridge Prep by a score of 157-181 at Deerpath GC. The Knight brothers led LFA as Fitz Knight ’27 shot a 36 and Quinn Knight ’24 carded a 38. Ethan Dandrow ’25 (41) and Trevor Reenan ’25 (42) finished out the scoring.

Caxys Lose: 146.00 - 169.00
The Caxys managed to score their lowest team score at Deerpath GC in recent memory defeating University High by a score of 146-169. The team was led by Nick Heise ’25 and Ethan Dandrow ’25 who each shot a 36 for co-medalists honors, while Quinn Knight ’24 and Christian Martinez ’25 posted rounds of 37.
Boys Varsity Golf Fights Off North Shore Country Day

Caxys Lose: 165.00 - 166.00
LFA fought off North Shore Country Day in a match that was as close as it gets in golf with a one-stroke victory. Trevor Reenan ’25 again led the way as medalist with a round of 36. Fitz Knight ’27 (42), Christian Martinez ’25 (43), and Quinn Knight ’24 (44) rounded out the scoring for the Caxys.

Caxys Lose: 155.00 - 173.00
The Caxys played their first dual match of the season and came away with a convincing 155-173 win over Latin. Trevor Reenan ’25 and Quinn Knight ’24 led the team with a pair of 37s and earned co-medalist honors. Nick Heise ’25 (40) and Fitz Knight ’27 (41) rounded out the scoring.

The boys and girls varsity golf teams joined forces to play in the inaugural Carmel Catholic Mixed Two-Person Scramble. It was a fun event with some impressive golf being played. There were five teams competing, and LFA finished in a tie for third. The mixed pairings scored as follows: Almira Tepe ’25/Trevor Reenan ’25 (71), Nick Heise ’25/Bela Bock ’25 (70), Olivia Rogalski ’25/Ethan Dandrow ’25 (78), and Quinn Knight ’24/Elyse Zhang ’25 (69).
