The Caxys traveled to University High for the ISL JV Tournament. LFA opened the event with a 46-37 win over Francis Parker. Led behind a staunch defensive effort, the Caxys took an 18-point lead by the third quarter. Yao Liu ’27 totaled a season-high 11 points and Tej Johnson ’27 led all scorers with 18 points.

Caxys Lose: 52.00 - 56.00
LFA faced top-seeded Latin in the second game of the ISL Tournament and fell in overtime by a score of 56-52. The Caxys took a 26-18 lead at intermission, but Latin rallied in third quarter and took a two-point advantage. LFA’s bid to win the game in regulation came up short and the contest went to extra time. In the extra frame, Latin was able to hold off LFA’s bid to tie the game in the final moments of play. Owen Adrianopoli ’27 scored 17 points to lead the Caxys and Tej Johnson ’27 finished with 16 points.

Caxys Lose: 47.00 - 48.00
A back-and-forth game went to the final possession as North Shore Country Day scored on a layup at the buzzer to escape with a 48-47 decision over LFA. The Caxys held a 10-8 lead after the first quarter and 19-16 advantage at halftime. North Shore took the lead in the third quarter before LFA’s full-court pressure led to the Caxys retaking the lead before the final basket of the game. Owen Adrianopoli ’27 had 13 points while Tej Johnson ’27 led LFA with 17 points.

Caxys Lose: 31.00 - 41.00
Visiting Northridge Prep held off LFA in a 41-31 decision at Glore Gym. The Caxys started slow, but trailed by just one at 11-10 at the end of the first quarter. Northridge extended the lead, but LFA stayed within striking distance until the final few minutes. Tej Johnson ’27 led all scorers with 15 points while Colton Thakkar ’26 added eight points.

Caxys Lose: 37.00 - 56.00
LFA traveled to Harlem and dropped a road game by a score of 56-37. Harlem took advantage of LFA turnovers in the first half and held a 28-13 lead at intermission. The Caxys made a run in the third quarter, but Harlem answered and pulled away for the win. Tej Johnson ’27 scored 15 points to lead the team.

The Caxys started slow and trailed at Highland Park before a fourth quarter rally cut the deficit to six points. LFA outscored Highland Park by a 16-9 margin in the final frame, but it wasn’t quite enough in a 43-35 loss. Tej Johnson ’27 led LFA with 10 points while Caden Ye ’26 and Colton Thakkar ’26 added six points apiece.

LFA traveled to Francis Parker and returned with a decisive 47-32 victory. Owen Adrianopoli ’27 finished with 20 points that included eight in the fourth quarter to close out the game. Caden Ye ’26 knocked down three buckets from behind the arc and scored 11 points and Colton Thakkar ’26 contributed seven points.

The Caxys trailed by 10 points at halftime at Northridge Prep before rallying to pull within two at 34-32 at the end of the third quarter. The fourth quarter saw LFA go cold from the field while Northridge was able to extend its lead for the 46-36 final score. Tej Johnson ’27 scored eight points to lead LFA.

The Caxys started slow and weren’t able to completely overcome the early deficit in a 45-36 loss at North Shore Country Day. After trailing 11-3 at the end of the first quarter, LFA outscored North Shore by a 10-8 margin in the second frame. The Caxys made a few second half runs moving to within a basket in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t take the lead. Owen Adrianololi ’27 led the team with 12 points while Tej Johnson ’27 added 11 points.

LFA dropped a 46-22 decision against visiting Grayslake Central. Caden Ye ’26, Colton Thakkar ’26, and Owen Adrianopoli ’27 each scored five points to lead the Caxys.

Caxys Lose: 48.00 - 55.00
In the first game after winter break, the Caxys went back-and-forth in a tightly contested game before falling by a score of 55-48 against Yorkville Christian. LFA held a 31-30 at halftime and the game was tied at 42-42 after three quarters before Yorkville Christian outlasted the home team in the final frame. Caden Ye ’26 led three players in double figures with 14 points while Tej Johnson ’27 added 13 and Hugh Tennyson ’27 chipped in 10 points.

The Caxys opened up a close game with a third quarter run en route to a 46-35 win over visiting Francis Parker. LFA held a 19-17 advantage at halftime before extended the led into double digits with a 15-3 run in the third quarter. Tej Johnson ’27 led the Caxys with 17 points while Owen Adrianopoli ’27 added 15 points that saw him score 13 in the second half.

LFA was in command from the start as the Caxys held leads of 16-2 at the end of the first quarter and 28-8 at halftime. The final score settled at 38-25 in the win over visiting Elgin Academy as 10 different players scored during the game. Tej Johnson ’27 and Jake Sun ’26 led the team with seven points apiece.

LFA hosted Zion-Benton and trailed 21-20 at intermission. In the second half, Zion-Benton was able to build a lead and held off the Caxys by a score of 52-41. Tej Johnson ’27 led all scorers with 16 points in a well-rounded game while Hugh Tennyson ’27 and Owen Adrianopoli ’27 added eight points apiece.

Caxys Lose: 42.00 - 46.00
A furious comeback ran out of time as the Caxys fell, 46-42, at Latin. LFA trailed by as many as 20 points in the third quarter and entered the final frame facing a 34-17 deficit. The Caxys cut the deficit to two points in the final minute, but were unable to take the lead. Yao Liu ’27 sparked the comeback and knocked down a pair of three-pointers in the fourth quarter. Tej Johnson ’27 scored eight points in the fourth quarter while Owen Adrianopoli ’27 went 5-for-5 at the free throw line en route to 10 points in the game.

Caxys Win: 47.00 - 37.00
The Caxys traveled to North Chicago and posted a 47-37 win. LFA outscored North Chicago by a 17-7 margin in the third quarter to open up the game and cruise to the victory. Tej Johnson ’27 made a buzzer beater three-pointer before half after dribbling it the length of the court to put an exclamation point on the first half. He finished with 17 points and played complementary to Caden Ye ’26 who finished a great overall performance with 18 points.

The junior varsity boys basketball team started off the season with a 63-32 win against Daystar Academy in Glore Gymnasium. Tej Johnson ’27 led the Caxys with 13 points while Hugh Tennyson ’27 added 11 with three three-pointers including a buzzer beater at the end of the second quarter and Zaid Ansari ’26 scored 10 points.
