Biography:
Kevin Hagen joined the Lake Forest Academy science department in 2015. After earning his bachelor’s degree in Geology with a concentration in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Kevin completed the Earth and Space Science teaching certification program from Northern Illinois University. Recently, he started working on a Masters of Science in Natural Resources and Environmental Science through the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Prior to LFA, Kevin taught at Dundee-Crown High School for four years, teaching various sciences and aligning curriculum while introducing new science courses. At LFA, he currently teaches Astronomy, Natural Disasters, Advanced Biology, and AP Environmental Science, where he enjoys leading a curricular trip with students over spring break, most recently to Olympic National Park. In 2019, Kevin was awarded the Harold H. Corbin Jr. Chair in Environmental Studies. Kevin is the head coach for the junior varsity boys basketball team and lives with his wife, Kari, and sons, Owen and William, in Gurnee.
Biography:
Kevin Ingram joined the Lake Forest Academy Science Department in 2023. He earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. At University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Kevin worked in a comparative bioscience laboratory researching biological mechanisms of obesity, diabetes, and alcoholic liver disease. He then went on to earn a Master of Science in Law at Northwestern University. At LFA, Kevin teaches Physics 1 and Advanced Chemistry. He is also the assistant coach for the junior varsity B boys soccer team and junior varsity boys basketball team. Kevin lives on campus and serves as a dorm parent in Atlass Hall.
Biography:
Faith Ekakitie ’12 joined Lake Forest Academy's admission office in October 2023. Faith is an alumni of the Academy, having graduated in 2012. He went on to attend the University of Iowa and earned his undergraduate degree in anthropology, while also playing football. Faith then went on to play in the Canadian Football League for several years before moving back to Illinois with his wife, Mikaela, who coaches LFA's girls varsity volleyball team as well as the boys junior varsity volleyball team. He and Mikaela have two children: Ezra and Elsie. Faith most recently worked at Lake Forest Country Day School, where he spent time teaching SK through fourth grade physical education, as well as coaching many of their upper school athletics teams. On campus, Faith will serve as a dorm parent in Warner House and is an assistant coach with the boys junior varsity basketball team.
