In their first game from winter break, the Caxys came up short in a 45-43 decision at Willows Academy. After trailing throughout the evening, LFA found itself down five points with just eight seconds on the clock. Lindsay Farbman ’26 drilled a three-pointer before Selin Goeckce ’24 intercepted the inbounds pass. She found Farbman for the game-tying bucket, but her bid at the buzzer just missed to send the game to overtime.

Caxys Win: 57.00 - 43.00
LFA defeated host The Hill School, 57-43, to claim third place in the The Hill School Tournament. The Caxys trailed early, but chipped away and held the advantage at halftime. LFA extended its lead in the third quarter and pulled away to win the game. Lilla Szilvássy ’25 was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Girls Varsity Basketball Comes Up Short Against Academy of Notre Dame De Namur

Caxys Lose: 55.00 - 66.00
Lake Forest Academy came up on the short end of a 66-55 score against Academy of Notre Dame (Pa.) in the semifinals of The Hill School Tournament. The Caxys trailed by single digits through most of the second half before Notre Dame held on for the win. Lilla Szilvássy ’25 and Emilia Sierra ’24 each tallied double-doubles to lead the Caxys. Szilvássy totaled 22 points and 19 rebounds while Sierra finished with 12 points and 10 boards. Lindsay Farbman ’26 added a dozen points with four three-pointers.
Girls Varsity Basketball Knocks Off Perkiomen School

Caxys Win: 72.00 - 50.00
After a slow start to the game, the Caxys rallied behind a stellar performance from Selin Goekce ’24 to defeat the Perkiomen School (Pa.), 72-50, in the opening game of the The Hill School Tournament. Goekce led the rally with 18 points in the second quarter en route to a game-high 31 points. Emilia Sierra ’24 added 23 points and nine assists while Lilla Szilvássy ’25 put together a 14-point, 23-rebound double-double.
Girls Varsity Basketball Falls in Overtime Against Lake Forest

Caxys Lose: 63.00 - 64.00
The girls varsity basketball team opened up the season against Lake Forest at the Cougar Classic Thanksgiving Tournament at Vernon Hills. LFA led by as many as 14 points in the second half of the game before Lake Forest made a late run to force overtime. In the extra frame, the score went back-and-forth before Lake Forest tallied the final point in a 64-63 decision over LFA. Emilia Sierra ’24 finished with 14 points and six blocked shots while Lindsay Farbman ’26 led the squad with 16 points. Selin Goeckce ’24 and Lilla Szilvassy ’25 each had 15 points.
