Coaches

Chris Dozois.


Head Coach

Biography:

Chris Dozois has worked at Lake Forest Academy since 1989, and is a 1984 graduate of the Academy. He received his bachelor’s degree from Miami University (Ohio) and his Master of Education from National Louis University. Chris teaches World History I and AP U.S. History. He is the head coach of the girls cross country team and previously coached boys cross country, football, golf, boys basketball, and was the head boys and girls track coach from 1994 to 2011. Chris is also the sponsor of LFA’s Model United Nations team. He lives on campus with his wife and two daughters, both of whom graduated from LFA, one in 2017 and the other in 2021.

Assistant Coach

Biography:

Kerry Cedergren joined the Lake Forest Academy Science Department in 2001. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in chemistry from Illinois State University and her Ph.D. from Michigan State University in chemistry. Prior to working at LFA, she was a senior research scientist at Abbott Labs, where she worked in the diagnostics division developing blood tests. Over the years, she has taught all levels of chemistry and is currently teaching AP Chemistry and Biochemistry Research. She has been a class advisor and served on many committees over the years. She is the head coach of the Science Olympiad team, she coaches girls cross country, and is the faculty advisor for the Sustainability Initiative. Kerry lives in Libertyville with her family.

Kassandra Hayes.


Assistant Coach

Biography:

Kassandra Hayes joined Lake Forest Academy in 2016 and currently serves as Senior Associate Dean of Admission. She is passionate about creating memorable experiences for each prospective student and family throughout their admission process. Kassandra’s previous experience includes working as the Assistant Director of Admission at Francis W. Parker School in Chicago, Director of Admission & Enrollment Management at Far Hills Country Day School (N.J.), and Director of Admission at Cathedral School (N.Y.). Prior to working in the field of education, Kassandra was a broadcast news anchor and reporter at NBC and CBS affiliates in Texas, Kansas, and Louisiana.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Howard University, a Master of Arts in Education degree in Elementary Education from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Arts in Education degree in Education Leadership from Bank Street College. Kassandra lives off campus with her husband Mel and daughters Kennedy ’18 and Hunter. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family outdoors, reading, and running.
