2024 Girls Varsity Soccer
Biography:
Ackim Mpofu joined Lake Forest Academy in 2019 as a member of the History and Social Sciences Department. He holds a combined bachelor’s degree in political science and international affairs from Northeastern University, where he was a student athlete, co-captaining the men's soccer team. He then went on to complete his master’s degree in international relations with a minor in comparative politics and Graduate Certificate in International Law at St. John’s University, where he was also part of the men’s soccer team. He is currently head coach of the JV boys soccer and an assistant coach of the varsity girls soccer team at LFA.
Hailing from Zimbabwe, Ackim participated in the first Junior Olympics in Singapore in 2010 as a captain of the Zimbabwe Men’s Soccer Team. He also was part of the Zimbabwean Premier League team Highlanders FC in 2011 and 2012. Besides being a soccer enthusiast, he is passionate about philanthropy and is currently working on launching Project AYANDA, an initiative that focuses on tackling obstacles to girls achieving perfect school attendance in the rural areas in Zimbabwe.
