Mandy Krause is in her 11th year at Lake Forest Academy, after having taught in public schools. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English and American Literature from New York University in 2009 and completed her master’s in education in curriculum and instruction from Concordia University (Wis.) in 2012. Recently, she completed a Graduate Certification in Women’s Leadership from Cornell University, and for the past couple years, has been serving as the Educational Director for Notice News, the nonprofit arm of a startup news explainer series on Snapchat, aiming to bring unbiased explanations of the news to high school students. She is publicly licensed in both secondary and elementary education, with endorsements in English and social studies. While living in New York, she completed several professional writing internships at literary and corporate institutions, including Scholastic, The New York Daily News, TIME Magazine, and Polo Ralph Lauren. While at LFA, she has participated several years in an Oral English Training Program in China for the professional development of teachers in Jiangxi Province and Chengdu. She also attended the Columbia Scholastic Press Association’s program at Columbia University in New York in preparation to head LFA’s journalism program and serve as the advisor for The Spectator. She teaches Journalism I, Journalism II, English 12: Advanced Journalistic Writing & Reporting, and English 9. Mandy serves on the Faculty Advisory Committee and as a dorm parent in Ferry Hall, where she lives with her husband, Adam, and daughter, Rory.

Kristine Petroshius P’27 is the Director of Advancement Services & Data Strategy for the Advancement Department of Lake Forest Academy. Kristine joined the Academy in 2010. She has a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Minnesota. Prior to LFA, she was the Fund Development Manager at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lake County. At LFA, Kristine is a co-advisor and assists with athletics and campus activities. She resides in Waukegan with her husband, Douglas, two sons, Jackson and Thomas, and dog, Chew Barker.
